The ginger adds a nice punch and compliments the apple cider very well.
This recipe is mess-free and easy to make. I like to call this set and forget. Once your ingredients are in the slow cooker, you can sit down and relax. Or even carry on with the rest of your day until the time is up.

Easy Apple Cider

- Total Time: 3 hours 20 minutes

Ingredients
- 10–12 medium apples quartered
- 2 peeled oranges, quartered
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- 1 tablespoon whole cloves
- 1 star anise
- 1 small piece of ginger (about ½ inch)
- 16 cups water, more or less
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- fresh orange slices and cranberries to garnish
Instructions
- Combine all the ingredients in a slow cooker and add water.
- Heat the cider over high heat until it reaches a simmer. Then reduce heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for about 2 hours
- Once the apple and orange are soft use a wooden spoon to the fruits
- Then cover and simmer for 1 more hour.
- Using strainer, strain out all of the solids and discard into the compost
- Add the maple syrup and stir a little.
- Garnish with fresh orange slices and cranberries and serve warm
