Ninja Creami Strawberry Frozen Yogurt made with fresh or frozen berries and Greek yogurt. Creamy, high-protein, tastes like ice cream. Easy 4-ingredient recipe ready in 24 hours!

A close-up of a hand blender in a bowl of pink frozen yogurt, with a pink checkered cloth and gold spoons nearby.

The strawberries give it that real fruit flavor (not artificial), the Greek yogurt adds protein so you actually feel satisfied, and the maple syrup brings just enough sweetness without being cloying. Plus it pairs with everything.

    Quick Answer

What it is: A high-protein frozen yogurt made with fresh strawberries, Greek yogurt, and maple syrup that the Ninja Creami turns into a smooth, scoopable dessert.

    • Prep: 10 minutes (plus 24-hour freeze)
    • Cook/Freeze: 24 hours freezing + 3 minutes spinning
    • Texture: Creamy, smooth, scoopable (like soft-serve ice cream)
    • Perfect for: Healthy dessert lovers, high-protein snackers, strawberry season
    • Method: Strawberries with maple syrup, stir in yogurt, freeze, spin in Ninja Creami

The Ninja Creami breaks down the frozen mixture and whips air into it, creating that soft, creamy texture you can't get from just stirring yogurt.

    The ingredients

A bowl of yogurt, a bowl of frozen strawberries, a container of salt with a spoon, and a small bowl of maple syrup arranged on a white surface.

    Fresh or Frozen Strawberries
Fresh strawberries work best because you can mash them and get those juices flowing. Frozen strawberries work too, but you need to thaw them completely first. I tried it with frozen once without thawing and the texture was grainy. Not great.

    Greek Yogurt
I use plain full-fat Greek yogurt because it makes the frozen yogurt extra creamy. You can use low-fat or non-fat if you want, but the texture won't be quite as rich. Plain yogurt is better than vanilla here because you control the sweetness.

    Maple Syrup
This is my favorite sweetener for this recipe. It brings a warm, natural sweetness that pairs so well with strawberries. You could use honey or agave, but maple syrup has this subtle flavor that just works.

    Salt
Just a tiny pinch. It sounds weird in frozen yogurt, but trust me. Salt makes the strawberry flavor pop and balances the sweetness. Don't skip it.

Steps-by-step Instructions for the Ninja Creami Strawberry Yogurt

Add all the ingredients. Pourt all the ingredients in the pint of the ninja creami. Stir everything together until it's completely combined. The mixture should be pretty thick and pink.

Smooth the top. Use a spoon to smooth the top of the mixture so it's level. This helps it freeze evenly and makes spinning easier.

Freeze for 24 hours. Put the lid on your pint container and place it in the freezer on a flat surface. Freeze for a full 24 hours. I know it's tempting to check it early, but trust me. It needs the full time.

Install and spin. After 24 hours, remove the lid from your pint. Install the pint in the outer bowl of your Ninja Creami. Lock it into place, then select the Lite Ice Cream function. The machine will spin for about 2 minutes.

Check and re-spin. When it's done, check the texture. It'll probably look powdery or crumbly. This is totally normal. Select the Re-Spin function and run it again. After the second spin, it should be smooth and creamy.

Serve immediately. Your frozen yogurt is ready to eat right now. Scoop it out and enjoy!

    Sophie's Tips

The first spin will look wrong. When you first spin it, the frozen yogurt looks like strawberry snow. Powdery, dry, crumbly. Don't panic. That's exactly what's supposed to happen. The re-spin is what brings it all together.

Add liquid if it's still crumbly. After two spins, if it's still not creamy, make a small well in the center and add 1-2 tablespoons of milk or cream. Then re-spin one more time. This usually fixes it.

    Variations

    Mixed Berry Frozen Yogurt
Swap the strawberries for a mix of raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries. Mash them the same way.

    Chocolate Strawberry
Add 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa powder when you add the yogurt. You'll get a chocolate-covered-strawberry vibe.

    Protein-Packed Version
Stir in a scoop of vanilla protein powder with the yogurt. You might need to add 1-2 tablespoons of milk to help it blend.

    Honey Strawberry
Use honey instead of maple syrup for a different flavor profile.

    Graham Cracker Swirl
After the second spin, use the Mix-In function to add crushed graham crackers. It tastes like strawberry cheesecake.

    Serving Ideas

Eat it straight from the pint. This is how I eat it most of the time. Just grab a spoon and go.

Top with fresh strawberries. A few sliced strawberries on top add freshness and make it look pretty.

Add granola for crunch. I love the texture contrast between the creamy yogurt and crunchy granola.

Drizzle with extra maple syrup. If you want it sweeter or just love maple flavor, a little drizzle on top is perfect.

Make a strawberry shortcake sundae. Serve it alongside pound cake or biscuits with whipped cream.

Turn it into a milkshake. Let it soften for a few minutes, then blend it with a splash of milk.

    Storage Tips

In the Ninja Creami pint container:
If you have leftovers, use a spoon to smooth out the top and level it. Put the lid back on and return it to the freezer. When you want to eat it again, you'll need to re-spin it in the Ninja Creami to get that creamy texture back.

    In a different container:
You can transfer the frozen yogurt to a freezer-safe container if you need your Ninja Creami pint for another recipe. Just know that when you take it out to eat, you'll need to let it sit on the counter for 5-10 minutes to soften since you can't re-spin it.

    How long it lasts:
In a sealed container in the freezer, this will keep for 2-3 weeks. The texture gets a bit icier over time, which is why re-spinning is your friend.

    FAQ

Why is my frozen yogurt crumbly after spinning?

This happens when there's not enough fat or moisture in the mixture. Greek yogurt is lower in fat than ice cream, so the first spin often looks powdery. That's why you re-spin. If it's still crumbly after two spins, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk or cream and re-spin again.

Can I make this without a Ninja Creami?

Not really. The Ninja Creami is what creates that smooth, scoopable texture by breaking down the frozen mixture. If you just freeze this in a regular container, it'll be rock hard and icy when you try to scoop it.

    Equipment

    • Ninja Creami ice cream maker
    • Ninja Creami + pint container
    • Fork
    • Spoon

    Ingredients

    • 1 cup sliced frozen or fresh strawberries
    • 3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
    • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt full-fat for best results
    • 1 pinch of salt

    Instructions

    • Combine ingredients: Add all the ingredients in the ninja creami pint. Stir thoroughly until everything is evenly combined and the mixture turns a uniform pink color.
    • Level and freeze: Use a spoon to smooth and level the top of the mixture. Secure the lid on the pint container and place it on a flat surface in your freezer. Freeze for exactly 24 hours.
    • Process in Ninja Creami: After 24 hours, remove the pint from the freezer and remove the lid. Install the pint in the Ninja Creami outer bowl and lock it into position. Select the Lite Ice Cream function and allow the cycle to complete.
    • Re-spin for creaminess: After the initial spin, the frozen yogurt will appear powdery or crumbly (this is expected). Select the Re-Spin function and process again until smooth and creamy.
    • Final adjustment (if needed): If the texture is still not creamy after two spins, create a small well in the center, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk or cream, and re-spin one additional time.
    • Serve immediately: Scoop into bowls and enjoy right away, or smooth the top and return to the freezer for later.

    Notes

    • Yogurt fat content affects texture: Full-fat Greek yogurt creates the creamiest texture. Low-fat or non-fat yogurt will work but may require an extra tablespoon of milk during re-spinning to achieve the same smoothness.
    • Powdery texture is normal: After the first spin, the mixture will look dry and crumbly like pink snow. This is completely normal for frozen yogurt. The re-spin cycle incorporates air and brings everything together into a creamy consistency.
