Ingredients

  • 1 box of Mac and Cheese and all the ingredients you need to make it
  • 4 cups of fresh baby spinach
  • 2 tablespoons of water
  • 1 cheese stick
  • 4 black olives
  • Pinch of salt and Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Start by following the package directions on the typical Mac Dinner box. You'll need water, butter, and whole milk for this step. Cook the macaroni in boiling water in a large saucepan until it's perfectly al dente, and the cheese mixture is rich and creamy.
  • While your mac and cheese is cooking, let's work on the green and gooey goodness. Take the baby spinach and place it in a microwave-safe bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of water. Pop it in the microwave for about 2 minutes or until the spinach is wilted. You can also cook it over medium heat in a skillet for 1-2 minutes.
  • Once the spinach is cooked, let it cool for a moment, and then blend it with a little of water into a vibrant green puree. This will be your "monster slime" sauce to add a spooky twist to your mac and cheese.
  • Pour in that green spinach puree on the prepared macaroni. Mix it well until your mac and cheese takes on a haunted hue and have a creamy cheese sauce.
  • Now, let's craft some spooky eyeballs. Slice the cheese string with a sharp knife into thick rounds – these will be the whites of your eyes. With a metal straw or another small round object make a hole in the middle. Place a small black olive slice in the center of each cheese round to create a spooky pupil.
  • Your Halloween Mac and Cheese is now ready to come to life! Scoop a generous portion onto your plate and top it with those creepy eyeballs.
  • Gather your friends and family around the table, and savor the creepy yet delicious Halloween Mac and Cheese. Happy Halloween

Notes

Depending on your preference for the intensity of the "monster slime" green, you can adjust the amount of spinach puree you add to the mac and cheese. Start with a little and add more until you achieve the desired spooky color.
Store any leftover mac and cheese in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. When reheating, you may need to add a little milk to maintain the creamy texture.
