Easy Balsamic Tofu

This Easy Marinated Balsamic Tofu recipe is prepared almost entirely in advance, taking the guesswork out of your meal planning.  Add a couple of easy side dishes, and you have an effortless, yet impressive meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 block of extra firm tofu
  • 4 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 tablespoon balsamic vinegar or rice vinegar
  • 2 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 2 shallots finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoon garlic minced or teaspoon of garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Pat the tofu dry with paper towels to remove as much water as possible. You can also use a tofu press if you have one.
  • Cut the Tofu into about ½ inch slices
  • In a small bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients to make the simple marinade
  • Coat the tofu well with the marinade and let marinate in a large bowl for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Remove the excess liquid and cook on the BBQ at medium-high heat for 7 to 10 minutes per side..

Notes

This tofu recipe is so easy to prepare and is perfect for an easy dinner because, since much of the work is done in advance.
