Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Measuring spoons
  • Tongs
  • Knife (if trimming asparagus)

Ingredients

  • 1 bundle asparagus about 1 pound
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese grated
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Wash the asparagus under cool water and pat it dry with a kitchen towel. Trim the tough woody ends by snapping or cutting about an inch off the bottom.
  • In a mixing bowl, toss the asparagus with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Ensure each piece is lightly coated for even seasoning.
  • Place the asparagus in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking.
  • Set the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and cook for 5-7 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through for even crispiness.
  • Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the asparagus in the last minute of cooking. Let it melt slightly for a deliciously cheesy finish.
  • Transfer the asparagus to a plate and enjoy it hot as a side dish or snack!

Notes

Storage and Reheating
Storage:
Store any leftover asparagus in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating:
  • Air fry at 350°F for 2-3 minutes to restore crispiness.
  • Microwave for 30 seconds, though it may be softer.
