Equipment

  • Air fryer
  • Sharp knife or mandoline slicer
  • large mixing bowl
  • Tongs
  • Measuring spoons

Ingredients

  • 4 russet potatoes thinly sliced
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt or to taste
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper optional

Instructions

  • Wash and scrub the potatoes well. Peel them if desired. Using a sharp knife or mandoline slicer, cut them into even slices (about ⅛-inch thick).
  • For extra crispiness, soak the potato slices in a bowl of cold water for 15–30 minutes. This removes excess starch, preventing them from becoming soggy. Drain and pat dry with a clean towel.
  • :In a large mixing bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure even coating.
  • Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat for about 3 minutes.
  • Place the seasoned potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overlapping them too much for even cooking. Cook in batches if necessary.
  • Cook for 15 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through (around the 7–8 minute mark). If needed, cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until crispy and golden brown.
  • Once done, transfer the potatoes to a plate and serve immediately with your favorite dips or alongside your main course.

Notes

Storage & Reheating

Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheating: Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–5 minutes to restore crispiness. Avoid microwaving as it makes them soggy.
