How to make the sliced potatoes in the Air Fryer

    1. Prep the Potatoes:
Wash and scrub the potatoes well. Peel them if desired. Using a sharp knife or mandoline slicer, cut them into even slices (about ⅛-inch thick).

    2. Soak the Slices (Optional but Recommended):
For extra crispiness, soak the potato slices in a bowl of cold water for 15–30 minutes. This removes excess starch, preventing them from becoming soggy. Drain and pat dry with a clean towel.

    3. Season the Potatoes:
In a large mixing bowl, toss the potato slices with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to ensure even coating.

    4. Preheat the Air Fryer:
Set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and let it preheat for about 3 minutes.

    5. Arrange the Potatoes in the Air Fryer:
Place the seasoned potato slices in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overlapping them too much for even cooking. Cook in batches if necessary.

    6. Air Fry the Potatoes:
Cook for 15 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through (around the 7–8 minute mark). If needed, cook for an additional 2–3 minutes until crispy and golden brown.

    7. Serve and Enjoy!
Once done, transfer the potatoes to a plate and serve immediately with your favorite dips or alongside your main course.

Tips for the Best Air Fryer Sliced Potatoes

    • Slice Evenly: Use a mandoline slicer for uniform thickness.
    • Don’t Overcrowd: Cook in batches if needed to allow proper air circulation.
    • Shake the Basket: Shake or flip the potatoes halfway through cooking to ensure even crisping.
    • Adjust Cooking Time: Depending on your air fryer model and thickness of slices, cooking time may vary slightly.
    • Serve Immediately: They’re best enjoyed fresh and hot for the ultimate crispiness.

    Variations

    • Cheesy Potatoes: Sprinkle grated Parmesan or cheddar cheese in the last few minutes of cooking.
    • Spicy Kick: Add cayenne pepper or red pepper flakes.
    • Herb-Infused: Toss with fresh rosemary, thyme, or parsley.
    • Garlic Butter: Drizzle with melted garlic butter before serving.

    What to Serve With

    • Dipping Sauces: Ranch, ketchup, aioli, or sour cream.
    • Main Dishes: Serve alongside grilled chicken, burgers, steak, or fish.
    • Breakfast Pairing: Enjoy with eggs and bacon for a hearty breakfast.

    FAQ

Can I use other types of potatoes?

Yes! Yukon Gold and red potatoes work well, though they may be slightly less crispy.

Why are my potatoes not crispy?

Ensure you pat them dry before cooking, don’t overcrowd the basket, and shake halfway through cooking.

Can I make these ahead of time?

It’s best to enjoy them fresh, but you can store and reheat them for later.
