For the donuts:
- 3½ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ¾ cup molasses
- ¾ cup melted butter
- ½ cup applesauce
- 1½ teaspoons baking soda
- ½ cup hot coffee
For the glaze:
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- 1½ teaspoons maple syrup
- 3 tablespoons milk
- ¼ teaspoon cinnamon
- Christmas sprinkles
Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease mini donut pan.
Mix flour, sugar, ginger, cinnamon, and salt.
Whisk melted butter, molasses, and applesauce.
Dissolve baking soda in hot coffee, then mix with wet ingredients.
Combine wet and dry mixtures until smooth.
Pipe into donut pan and bake 10–12 minutes.
Let cool, then whisk glaze ingredients.
Dip donuts, decorate, and let glaze set.
