- 1 block 14 oz firm or extra-firm tofu
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon whole grain mustrad
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon steak seasonning
- 1 teaspoon maple syrup
- Salt & pepper to taste
Drain and press the tofu for at least 20–30 minutes to remove excess moisture.
Whisk together the marinade in a bowl: soy sauce, olive oil, garlic, mustard, steak seasoning, maple syrup, salt, and pepper.
Slice tofu into ½-inch thick steaks. Place in a shallow dish.
Pour marinade over tofu, flipping to coat both sides. Marinate 30 minutes.
Preheat grill or grill pan over medium heat. Lightly oil the surface.
Grill tofu 3–4 minutes per side until charred and crispy.
Remove from heat, rest 5 minutes, and serve with your favorite sides.
- Press your tofu well - this is non-negotiable. The drier the tofu, the better it absorbs the marinade.
- Marinate for at least 30 minutes, but overnight is even better for max flavor.
- Don't flip too early - let the tofu sit on the grill undisturbed so it develops those beautiful char marks.
- Make extra marinade and brush it on veggies or use it as a salad dressing. It's that good.
- Leftovers are amazing - slice them cold for wraps, grain bowls, or salads.
