Equipment

  • Ninja Foodi Possible Cooker PRO
  • Fine-mesh strainer
  • Silicone spoon or spatula
  • Measuring cup

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup basmati or long-grain white rice rinsed
  • 2 ½ cups water or broth
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Rinse the rice under cold water until it runs mostly clear.
  • Turn on Sauté mode on low and add olive oil to the pot.
  • Add the rinsed rice and toast for 5 minutes.
  • Pour in the water or broth and add a pinch of salt. Stir once.
  • Still on low on Sauté mode, cover with the glass lid. Cook for 10 minutes.
  • Turn off the heat and let the rice rest for 5 minutes.
  • Fluff with a spoon and serve warm.

Notes

  • Rinsing the rice helps keep the grains separate.
  • Broth adds extra flavor if you want something savory.
  • Letting it rest improves the texture.
  • This recipe doubles easily.
